In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 saw him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Surely, Pixar will address the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have come back with him. And what about Duke Caboom (Keanu Reeves)?

At the very least, some elements are carrying over from the prior film. The last thing Woody did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to Jessie (Joan Cusack), leaving her as the leader of Bonnie's bedroom. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her outfit.
Hopefully she is remains the key figure among the toys.
