From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline including angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.
